Privacy
RoadSift is a search tool, not a data business. This page explains exactly what happens to the information you put into it.
The short version
RoadSift has no accounts and no sign-up. We do not ask for your name, address or payment details, and we never sell or rent personal information to anyone.
What stays in your browser
Your last search, the adverts you have viewed and the cars you have shortlisted are stored in your own browser using local and session storage. They are not attached to an identity, and clearing your browser data removes them completely.
What reaches our servers
When you run a search, the search terms (make, model, budget, postcode area, filters) are sent to our servers so the advert sites can be queried, and to our AI provider so Natasha can interpret your request and comment on cars. A registration you check is sent to the DVSA MOT History API to retrieve the official record.
We do not store these requests against a profile. Short-lived caches hold advert and MOT results so repeat searches are faster, and these expire on their own.
Third parties we rely on
Official MOT history comes from the DVSA MOT History API. Adverts come from the public listing pages of the sites named on the How it works page. AI commentary is produced by a third-party large language model provider. Hosting and error reporting are provided by our hosting platform.
Cookies and analytics
RoadSift does not use advertising cookies or cross-site trackers. Any storage we use is strictly to make the site work, remembering your search and shortlist between pages.
Your rights
Because we do not hold accounts or personal profiles, there is usually nothing held about you to access or delete beyond what sits in your own browser. If you believe we hold information about you, contact us and we will deal with it.
